  13.     Maybe I am stupid, but...I have an a4000/040 with 12Mb ram.  I can run my
  14. Workbench in 32 colors in DoubleNTSC Hires Lace NoFlicker pretty well and do.
  15. I have a 1942 monitor.  I have a big screen, a decent amount of colors, and
  16. very little flicker.

  18.     Then my PicassoII arrives.  It has 2 megs of its own memory.  I dload the
  19. new drivers and software from Olafs WebPage, get everything installed and
  20. BOOM!  everything sucks!!

  22.     AFAIK the 1942 only supports a Horizontal Frequency of 31kHz, so that is
  23. what I choose.  Now on the same monitor, I have a screen that flickers
  24. horribly at 800x600 and goes way off the screen.  I try 640x480- less flicker,
  25. but still way off the screen. I then make it so the screen size is only
  26. 745x600 in Screenmode prefs, and it fits, but there is all this grey stuff to
  27. the right.

  29.     Now you are saying to yourself, but what about the colors?  Isn't it nice
  30. to have millions of them at lightspeed?  NO!! I do not get millions, I get
  31. 256.  The speed is alright, but not blazing.  And there is a longer pause than
  32. before in switching screens.

  34.     So I try to screw with PicassoMode.  This is an exercise in futility.  I
  35. try to change any of the sliders, and nothing unless I slam the little box all
  36. the way to the Left or Right.  Then everything moves at random, I can't move
  37. it back, and I have to start over.

  39.     And where the hell is this CyberGfx I keep being taunted with.  I look Hi
  40. and Lo, but it isn't on AmiNet as CyberGFX or CyBERgraphics or anything else.

  42.     This has to be easier somehow.

  44.     It doesn't make sense that I can't show the same screen size and frequency
  45. as DbleNTSC Hires Lace NoFlicker and still get 256 or HeavenForbid 24bit!
